Half-Life 3 Or Episode 4? The Choice is Yours

Filed Under (Half-Life 2) by NightCrawler on 21-12-2007

gc-2007-half-life-episode-2-screens-20070822043819291.jpgCS-Nation points to an updated interview at Stuff We Like with Valve’s Doug Lombardi who basically gives us the option of Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2: Episode 4. Between us girls, I’ll take Half-Life 3.

“We would like to mention here that “Half-Life 3? is speculation, as we only have confirmation that Half-Life 2: Episode 3 will not be the last Half-Life game. It has been confirmed previously that Episode 3 will end the current Half-Life story arc, but not the franchise, nor the episodic medium.

There is perfect chance that there will be a series of episodic Half-Life games after Episode 3 (but unconnected to the current story arc). Then again, we cannot deny the possibility of a full-fledged title like Half-Life 3. Hell, for all we know, it might even be a prequel!”

Wow, a prequel! That would make a lot of sense! OKAY, MAYBE NOT!

Quake Wars v1.4 Patch Update

Filed Under (Quake Wars) by NightCrawler on 21-12-2007

quake-wars.jpgWondering when the Quake Wars v1.4 patch is coming out? Here’s an update which gives a new ETA:

We know you’re all waiting eagerly for the 1.4 update to be released and I’ve got a brief status update for you. Quality Assurance testing has turned up a few issues with 1.4 that need to be addressed before it can go out the public. One of them is specific to ATI cards, so we’re working closely with the guys over at AMD / ATi to get this resolved as quickly as possible, while also making sure that the rest of the update is as solid as can be. We don’t expect this to be resolved before the new year, so we’re now aiming to release 1.4 in early January 2008.

Crysis Patch Delay

Filed Under (Crysis) by NightCrawler on 21-12-2007

crysis.gifThe inCrysis Crysis Forums have word from Crytek on the status of Crysis patches, the SDK, and the Linux dedicated server (thanks McSterls). The update offers patch notes for the first patch and beyond, word on plans for improved mod support, and word that a Linux serer is in the works, but currently has no ETA. The update also confesses to a delay for the first patch, saying “Unfortunately due to heavy technical issues that appeared right before the patch was declared final we could not release it in time.” Word on release plans is: “Based on this feedback we will be able to set a release date for the long awaited Patch #1 for Crysis. If no major problems occur we expect to have it available for public download within January 2008. This is of course related to the reports from the QA departments, but we are confident to match the schedule.”
