Community manager doesn’t really talk about the upcoming COD4 map pack inside
Infinity community manager, Robert Bowling, has been caught red-handed talking about the highly anticipated Call of Duty 4 map pack. Unfortunately he didn’t really reveal much. We’re guessing Activision is saving all that up to make some big announcement soon.
Speaking to Destructoid, Bowling said, “People who want open maps are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want more indoor locales are going to be happy with this map pack. People who want something completely different from what they’re currently playing are going to be happy with this map pack.”
People who actually want some official, confirmed details to chew on aren’t going to be very happy, we say.
But it looks like Infinity will be supporting the game for a while yet, or at least until the next one comes out.
“We plan on supporting our game for a very long time. We’re currently number one on Xbox Live, so we have a lot of people playing. So we’re going to continue to support the community that keeps supporting us. We have a lot of cool ideas that we’re working on, and we’re going to keep making maps until we’re done.”

Responding to reports of endlessly rebooting PCs that flooded support newsgroups last week, Microsoft Corp. said on Tuesday it had pulled an update designed to prep Windows Vista for Service Pack 1.
Although the update — actually a pair of prerequisite files that modify Vista’s install components — has been temporarily pulled from Windows Update, Microsoft has not yet produced a fix for users whose machines either won’t boot or reboot constantly.

A headset which reads electrical impulses in the brain will allow gamers to interact with virtual worlds merely by ‘thinking and feeling’.
The Epoc headset - which is due to go on sale later this year - works by reading a player’s facial expressions as well as basic thoughts, such as ‘lift’ or ‘drop’, and transferring them to their character in the game.

A few days ago Adrian Kingsley posted in reply to several TalkBack comments that he wouldn’t carry out these tests until XP SP3 was released. There didn’t seem any point. That didn’t satisfy the crowds who wanted to see Vista SP1 and XP SP2 go head to head. So, to cut a long story short, the pestering continued and I eventually gave in. So what follows are the fruits of nearly two whole days of work at the PC Doc HQ (the test was hampered by the death of a motherboard, something which rendered hours of work obsolete).
How does Windows Vista SP1 compare to Windows XP SP2?
